The Orchard at Sunshine Hill is bustling with tree pruning activity getting ready for the Western Washington summer wedding season. Take a wedding venue tour in February and you will see the pruning crew hard at work or branches waiting to be cleaned up under the 100 year old fruit trees. Proper care in the orchard keeps the trees healthy, full of fruit and makes a beautiful natural atmosphere for summer weddings. The trees stretch out in a shady canopy ideal for outdoor wedding receptions. The lights will be strung in trees providing a soft glow of light throughout The Orchard at dusk. The trees are also a living reminder of the property’s history. They were planted over one-hundred years ago when the property was homesteaded in the mid-1800’s. Today these century old trees still produce delicious fruit and provide a beautiful setting for a Western Washington outdoor wedding. If you will excuse the winter mess, we'd love to have you tour The Orchard for your outdoor wedding venue.
We had many tours last weekend, but most of our wedding couples came earlier in the day and did not get to see Mt. Rainier because the fog held on longer than normal. We do not get much fog during the summer season so the mountains are out most of a clear day. The fog faded and the beautiful Western Washington mountains stood proud. Here is a photo taken later in that day! Thank you to all the recent engaged couples from Olympia, Tacoma and Seattle that have toured and considered getting married at The Orchard at Sunshine Hill. As of this writing, we still have a few great dates available for Summer 2019. Best wishes to all!
While we have received many compliments about the Luxury Restroom Trailer that has been used in The Orchard for the last three seasons, we have decided to build new restrooms. Planned for the 2019 season, they will be cute, brand new and always very clean.
